PLEASE READ THE INFORMATION BELOW BEFORE REVIEWING THE TABLES

The information displayed below is unofficial and is provided as a convenience for current and prospective students. This information is a best estimate of how courses will be transferred to UA and should not be considered a guarantee of transfer credit equivalencies. Official transfer evaluations are done upon submission of official transcripts. Please review UA’s complete Transfer Credit Policy in the Undergraduate Catalog for further information.

Click here for a visual guide to Understanding the Transfer Credit Equivalency Tables.
  • Group Codes
Transfer courses with a Group Code (indicated in the far left column of the table) indicate how two or more transferring courses together determine the UA equivalency. These courses will also have a UA equivalency specified when transferred as an individual course. Please note that you must take all courses with the same group code to receive the designated UA course equivalency for that group. If not, then you will receive the course equivalency specified for the individual course(s).

  • And/Or
UA equivalencies denoted with “And” indicate that the transfer course(s) equate to more than one UA course. In these cases, students will receive all UA courses listed as equivalencies for the specified transfer course. UA equivalencies denoted with an “Or” indicate that the UA equivalency is dependent upon the individual student’s degree program.

  • Elective Credit
UA equivalencies numbered 197 or 397 are considered elective credit only. The “GEC” subject area prefix designates General Elective Credit and is not discipline specific.

  • TRGS Credit
Transfer courses that have no direct UA equivalency but have been determined to be appropriate for core curriculum credit will be awarded as TRGS followed by the corresponding core designation.

  • Can't Find Your Course?
If a course from the transferring institution does not appear in the table below it means that the course has not yet been evaluated for a UA equivalency. To request that a course be evaluated, email transfercredit@ua.edu. Please provide the name and location of the institution and the subject, number, and title of the course.

No University of Alabama equivalent courses are defined at this time.

Course Equivalency definitions are continuously under development. If you have taken courses for which we have no equivalencies, we will evaluate them as we receive your official transcript(s).
